Plus, don't forget about our other amazing benefits and perks!* *Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage** Tuition reimbursement and Educational Assistance* Student loan assistance - up to $10,000!* State-of-the-art medical and training facilities* Paid parental leave for birth/adoption of a child* Retirement benefits with match from day one* Free Parking to all employees* Exclusive savings opportunities to in-store events, theme parks, discounts, movie tickets and local offerings and so much more!*Positions available for various shifts at the following facilities. ** Inova Alexandria Hospital- 4320 Seminary Rd, Alexandria, VA 22304* Inova Loudoun Hospital-44045 Riverside Pkwy, Leesburg, VA 20176* Inova Fair Oaks Hospital- 3600 Joseph Siewick Dr, Fairfax, VA 2203* Inova Schar Cancer Institute - 8081 Innovation Park Dr, Fairfax, VA 22031* Potomac Radiation Oncology Center - 2280 Opitz Blvd, Woodbridge, VA 22191*Requirements for consideration:**Radiation Therapist 1** Associate degree in Radiation Therapy* American Registered Radiologic Technologist certified or registry eligible within one year of employment.* Basic Life Support form AHA required upon start.*Radiation Therapist 2** Associate degree in Radiation Therapy or Certification.* 2 years of experience as a Staff Therapist in a Radiation Therapy department with experience in linear accelerators and patient simulation* American Registered Radiologic Technologist required upon start.* VA License required at PROC (Woodbridge)*Job Responsibilities:** The Radiation Therapist communicates effectively with patients, families, medical staff, healthcare team members, supervisors, and outside contacts.* Provides education and support of methods appropriate to patients' levels of understanding and motivation while including families and caregivers in education and training as appropriate.* Positions all patients for initial treatment to verify set-up; Verifies beam directional devices, ancillary aids and blocking via record and verification systems on machines and patients' computerized treatment plans before initiation of radiation beam; Maintains accurate records of daily treatments and other records as required.* Acts as a Liaison between physicians and machine staff by utilizing technical expertise for all difficult/complex treatments on various machines.* Documents any corrections in charts resulting from changes in the originally prescribed course of treatment; Detects unsatisfactory set-up and/or errors and resolves/reports to physicians.* Ensures that portal verification films are taken at appropriate intervals. Recognizes the need for adjustments in treatment ports when comparing simulation/portal films or patient positions; Performs daily quality assurance on linear accelerators, simulator and Computed Tomography machines to verify accurate output of designated parameters. Records findings and reports erratic operations of equipment.* Verifies operation of emergency shut offs and interlocks; Participates or provides assistance with in-vivo dosimetry measurements and special dosimetry. Attends department in-services/conferences and meetings.* Demonstrates knowledge of department treatment modalities and protocols in scheduling, set-up and treatment of patients; Keeps abreast of new technology in field of practice and assists in the development of new techniques, participation in research projects and/or educational activities.* May perform additional duties as assigned.We are Inova, Northern Virginia's leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
