  • Health Insurance, Dental / Vision Insurance, Life Insurance & moreSummary and Purpose of Painter/Maintenance:This position plays a key role in maintaining the functionality and appearance of our buildings and grounds, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for our residents and staff. Weekend sanitation responsibilities are included as part of the role.Employment Qualifications: Must have basic maintenance knowledge with at least one (1) year practical experience in painting, building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, or general repair work and basic knowledge of heating and air-conditioning. This person must possess a basic knowledge of equipment, plumbing, electricity, and sanitation. Must be able to read and spell. Must have a valid driver's license. Must participate in "on-call" duties. Must support the mission and values of Fairmount Homes.
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Regularly notes condition of equipment and physical plant, looking for possible fire and safety hazards and acting to prevent such hazards for team members and residents. Suggests improvements for safety and efficiency in operation.
  • Assists in installation of any equipment and repairs, and any maintenance as may pertain to any department in the facility. Must be capable of repairing most facility equipment and helping to decide on which equipment should be outsourced to better utilize our time and resources.
  • Responsible and available for any emergency calls.
  • Assists in keeping water system, water heaters and water softeners, nitrate and chlorine units in good condition. Also assists in keeping drains and sewage system in operation.
  • Assists with maintenance of Wheat Ridge and Farm Crest campus facilities and all cottages and apartments.
  • Assists in maintaining grounds, keeping premises neat and clean.
  • Assists in grounds snow removal, as required.
  • Assists with seasonal duties, i.e., installation and removal and/or cleaning air-conditioning units, etc.
  • Assists with the schedule of preventive maintenance for equipment, and maintains adequate records of the same.
  • Assists with trash disposal duties and water testing as assigned by Environmental Services Director.
  • Performs other duties as required by facility needs.
    Physical and Composure Requirements:
    • VISION: Requires constant overall vision including peripheral vision, color and depth perception.
    • MOBILITY AND ACTIVITY LEVEL: Extensive standing, full use of both hands, frequent walking, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, reaching, balancing. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently.
